ABSTRACT
Microstructure of soil is a kind of physical state, which could be identified in some structure factors. From the angle of image processing, the technological course of quantitative study at microstructure and quantification methods of non-determinated structure factors have been put forwards. With the fractal structure analysis, the authors discuss the influence of natural structure and pressure on loess collapse, interaction law between water and specimen and its collapse effect, and then explain the mechanism of loess collapse with the fractal structure.
