ABSTRACT
Quantification of microstructure of fine-grained soil has been a difficult nut for long time. In this paper, authors introduce the computer image processing system and show some quantitative analyzing results of fine-grained soil's microstructure, and put forward three quantitative indexes for assessing soil microstructure, and finally make the quantitative appraisal for the microstructure of the compacted clay soil.
