ABSTRACT
A large quantity of analyses and studies are made regarding the distribution, engineering geological characteristics, liquefaction, seepage deformation, settlement deformation and sliding deformation of the soft soil in the Yellow River lower reaches from the point of view of theory combined with practice. So far the most comprehensive engineering geological characteristics and evaluation of the soft soil in the foundation of dikes along the lower Yellow River are obtained.
