Since solar radiation that reaches earth’s surface can be both bene©cial and harmful to living organisms, thelargemajorityofthemhavedevelopedmechanismstoperceiveitasasignaltogetinformationon thesurroundingenvironmentandbehavioralstrategiestoexposethemselvestoradiationintensities suitable for their survival.
