ABSTRACT
Modern near-infrared spectroscopy (NIR) is a method of performing chemical analysis via spectroscopic measurements. When we speak of "chemical analysis," however, we must ask the question: Are we talking about qualitative or quantitative analysis? The flip answer is "yes," since NIR analysis can be used for both. However, the application to quantitative analysis is far more common, and this chapter is devoted to that aspect of the technology.
