ABSTRACT
This section presents key ideas and bibliographic references regarding selected types of fuzzy mathematical object. The topics include fuzzy numbers and fuzzy intervals, fuzzy quantifiers, fuzzy probabilities, fuzzy hedges, linguistic variables, and linguistic approximation. In the process, various types of syllogistic argument involving fuzzy quantifiers and/or fuzzy probabilities are discussed, as well the role of these ideas for the theory of approximate reasoning.
