ABSTRACT
Automating the transcription of handwriting on forms and mail pieces can result in significant cost savings. Neural networks have proven to be a robust and reliable component of handwriting recognition systems. In this paper, we review some of the major concepts and approaches to handwriting recognition using neural networks.
