ABSTRACT

Proximal humeral fractures are one of the most common fractures occurring in the older population that are related to osteoporosis. The frequency has been estimated between 63 and 105 per 100,000 per year. Proximal humeral fractures account for about 5% of all human fractures. With the aging of the world's population, the incidence increases by 13.7% per year of age in patients older than 60 years. It is expected that by the year 2030, the total amount of proximal humeral fractures will be tripled (1).
