ABSTRACT
Proximal femoral fractures represent one of the most common fractures in the elderly. Their management is challenging due to the associated patient related commorbidities and the poor bone stock. Subtrochanteric fractures in particular have a high incidence of implant failure and non-union. In this chapter, the management of intertrochanteric and subtrochanteric fractures is discussed including fixation tips and tricks.
