ABSTRACT
The osteoporotic calcaneal fracture is a unique fracture characterized by poor microarchitecture in the geriatric patient with inherent problems of fracture fixation. A surgeon should endeavour to reduce these fractures to achieve good anatomical relations of the os calcis, but special techniques of fracture fixation may be needed to accomplish this task.
