ABSTRACT

Nowadays, accessible technologies are builtin every operating system and device, and software companies race to make them more useful and flexible. In most cases, accessibility is a company's core consideration—from the earliest stages of product design through release. Accessible technologies not only give people with physical limitations greater control over devices but also adjust them to their personal preferences or a unique work style. Therefore, it is so important to design accessible user interfaces that can help all users navigate their computers. The aim of the chapter is to provide a chronological presentation of international standards related to ICT accessibility and outline the latest accessibility features that are built into operating systems.
