ABSTRACT

Managers searching for information to help them manage deer and other forest resources have expressed an interest in applying the principles and practices developed by the Quality Deer Management Association (QDMA). To address that need, this chapter provides a description of the QDMA program and how it addresses management needs of managers, and outlines how and whether managers of deer–forest management areas (DFMAs – see Chapter 9) might incorporate QDMA principles and practices into their management programs.
