ABSTRACT

Ward Pound Ridge Reservation (WPRR) is a forested public park, owned and operated by the Westchester County Department of Parks, Recreation, and Conservation. WPRR was acquired and created by the Westchester County Parks Commission in 1925 for camping and outdoor activities, similar to New York State Park areas in the Catskills and the Adirondacks, and was to be held as a great forest preserve (Herr and Kohl 2013, Pessoni 1995).
