ABSTRACT

Hypertension is a chronic, lifelong and progressive condition with potential detrimental effects on the cardiovascular system. Follow-up of hypertensive patients is therefore a key element of clinical management, essential for education and lifestyle modification, control of blood pressure (BP), fine-tuning of therapy, recognition of adverse effects of antihypertensive drugs and timely identification of target-organ damage.
