ABSTRACT
This chapter presents application of polymers as the coating material. This review surveys involve two most important film forming mechanisms: solvent evaporation mechanism and cross-linked film forming mechanism. Literature survey also contains application of polymer coating in biomedical and metals, which act as antiwear, drug delivery, antibacterial surface, corrosion protection, electrician conductivity, and biocompatibility. Major emphasis in metals polymer coating is given to corrosion protection and three classification of anti-corrosion coating (barrier coating protection, sacrificial coating protection and inhibitive coating protection). Two major components of anti-corrosion coating, solvent and binder, are also included in this chapter.
