ABSTRACT

Precision personalized medicine means a change of paradigm. Intrinsically, every tumor-host complex is a rare disease. Breast cancer is not a unique disease but a group of tumor subtypes with different natural history. The traditional model is exhausted and does not serve people. Why is there no cure yet against cancer? Cancer is not a unique disease. Cancer cannot be treated as an infectious disease. To design therapies that destroy viruses or bacteria without affecting people’s own cells results simpler. The problem is that tumor cells are cells of people’s own body. Precision oncology increases the rates of survival. Precision oncology allows safer treatments directed vs. targets (decreases AEs). Precision oncology removes the use of unnecessary or ineffective treatments. Precision oncology improves system efficiency. A critical moment in precision medicine: Information is more important than drugs. Patients and healthcares search for results. Academics must lead to change. Advantage: They dispose of clinical and scientific knowledge.
