ABSTRACT
The major goal of the Use Case has been to validate the Cyber-Physical Production Systems (CPPSs) concept of “Micro-Flow Cell” and its functions in regard to flexibility, reconfigurability, and productivity. All objectives have been met. The cell is flexible and can handle a variety of products and tools. The cell is reconfigurable; processes and products can be switched in 4 minutes. The cell has increased the productivity; lead time has been reduced, product quality has improved, and administration of work orders has been eliminated through an adequate level of digitalization.
