ABSTRACT
Existing production resources are not designed to work in the Production harmonizEd Reconfiguration of Flexible Robots and Machinery (PERFoRM) platform, so it is necessary to implement compliant hardware and software interfaces. This chapter describes how the implementation of specific technology Adapters has facilitated the integration of legacy production resources in the PERFoRM project. These Adapters have an important role in permitting a smooth migration from a traditional production system to the flexible and reconfigurable manufacturing system conceived in PERFoRM.
