ABSTRACT

The rewards can be mammoth if the healthcare organizations effectively integrate biological data into their clinical and operational processes. Healthier patients, lower care costs, more visibility into performance, and higher staff and consumer satisfaction rates are among the many profits of revolving data assets into data insights. The challenges of big data analytics in healthcare are security visualization and a number of data integrity concerns. On the other hand, big data is complex and unwieldy, requiring provider organizations to take a close look at their approaches to collecting, storing, analyzing, and presenting their data to staff members, business partners, and patients. In addition, organizations typically face many challenges when kicking up a big data analytics program and come out of these issues by achieving their data-driven clinical and financial goals. The objective of this chapter is to explain and impart solution for the effective analysis and management of big data in healthcare with four main parts, namely (i) collection of healthcare data, (ii) analysis of healthcare data, (iii) management of big data, and (iv) big data in healthcare. The collection process starts from capturing data that is clean, complete, accurate, and formatted correctly for use in multiple systems. Then, the captured data is then stored in the premise data storage, which promises control over security, access, and uptime, by spending server space and compatibility maintenance. The analysis part includes data security, which is the number one priority for healthcare organizations, especially in the wake of a rapid-fire series of high-profile breaches and hacking. Finally, in the management process of course, data may also be reused or reviewed for other purposes, such as quality measurement or performance benchmarking. Then, the ability to query data is primary for reporting and analytics to generate a report that is clear, crispy, and accessible to the target audience when it is offered. This chapter assures to satisfy the readers to know about the effective utilization of big data analysis and management in healthcare.
