ABSTRACT

For the rehabilitation strategy of a damaged heavy-duty pavement, asphalt overlay with Polymer Modified Bitumen (PMB) was used for retarding of reflective cracking and pavement reinforcement. In order to assess the performance of the rehabilitated pavement, a research study was conducted, based on in-situ Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) data, as well as on laboratory test results on specimens and cores. In-situ data was collected periodically several years after the rehabilitated pavement was given in service. The collected data was analyzed using mainly deflection indicators, as a quick tool for performance assessment of the pavement. According to the analysis results, there is an indication that the selected rehabilitation strategy is promising in terms of a rational pavement management.
