ABSTRACT

This report analyzes the risk management criteria in companies operating in the infrastructure sector, applicable to the entire organization or to specific contracts, in the light of the relevant regulatory guidelines and contractual and current organizational practices. For this purpose, main issues linked to risk management system will address, according to: the necessity of incorporating risk management in all business processes, in order to plan strategies of risk mitigation and budget allocation; the complex factors due to business divisions, different groups inside the organization, business abroad, and the need of integration among various functional management systems; and the opportunity to promote risk management in the Internal Control System and in the related audit activities to support the decision-making process. The work ends with an innovative configuration of the business risk breakdown structure, based on the traditional contractual chains that can be found in loans for the construction and management projects of transport infrastructures.
