ABSTRACT

Determining the most appropriate diversity indices in a study area is one of the necessary things to preserve animal species. Therefore, the simplest way to do it seems to be quite important in ecological communities. Here, with the help of a case study in Iran, I explained the simplest and easiest way to determine the most sensitive biological indices in a study area. My survey showed that Menhinic’s species richness, Shannon–Weaver diversity, and Simpson’s measure of evenness were the most appropriate indices to calculate the richness, the diversity, and the evenness in the study area.
