ABSTRACT

The interest around the Internet of Things (IoT) has been growing exponentially, as well as the idealization of projects that use this technology, generating numerous possibilities of application putting this feature at the top of digital transformation in business. The IoT refers to the large and growing set of digital devices that operate on a potentially global scale, consisting solely of sensors and other intelligent devices, among its uses are the collection of operational data from remote sensors in business platforms, climate data collection, and intelligent thermostat control, and transmit this data over the Internet. Cloud computing is the delivery of on-demand computing resources, everything from applications to data centers, via the Internet with pay-per-use payment, driving increased flexibility, agility, and cost-effectiveness along with IoT, overcomes its limitations generating technological impetus. Therefore, this chapter aims to provide an overview of the IoT and Cloud, showing its relationship and the success of this integrative technological approach, with a concise bibliographic background, categorizing and synthesizing the potential of both technologies.
