ABSTRACT
A advances and research reports suggest that artificial intelligence (AI) has reached an inflexion point. There have been several points where AI appeared poised to take off in sophistication and impact. AI is often commonly defined as “the capability of a machine to imitate intelligent human behavior.” Machine learning is the practice of using statistical techniques to allow an information system the ability to “learn” with data without being explicitly programmed. It is the process by which a system is given a set of examples that set parameters for responses; from these parameters, the machine may then interact with novel data and be rewarded or otherwise based on the goals of the program designers. The term “deep” is often used by companies when naming AI systems or technologies. For example Google’s DeepMind Technologies which specializes in the development of AI. These brand terms are rooted in the computational approach of the same name.
