ABSTRACT

Bioinformatics is an interdisciplinary science taking inputs from major scientific disciplines and gaining rapid strides at par with developments in computational capabilities. The bioinformatics tools and databases which are thankfully open resource in most cases are helping us decode the complexities of life. It has useful application ranging from genome sequencing, analysis, compilation to personalized genomics, designer therapeutics, understanding complex disorders in terms of precise molecular interactions, etc. Here, we discuss some of the useful applications of bioinformatics resources with examples from our own work.
