ABSTRACT

Tin-based materials for supercapacitor applications were highlighted in this chapter. The increasing use of non-renewable energy sources are leading the world towards the energy calamities and environmental pollution. To overcome these problems, a robust and powerful renewable energy resources are required which are beneficial for mankind. For the storage of energy obtained from renewable sources is a dire need for non-stop working of our electronic devices and electric vehicles. The construction and mechanism of various types of supercapacitors has been discussed. Different materials used in the fabrication of supercapacitor such as carbon-based materials, metal oxide, conducting polymers, composite and tin-based materials are deliberated. Among these materials, tin-based nanomaterials are highlighted to be the best for supercapacitor application due their high supercapacitive properties.
