ABSTRACT

In this study, a repair method for RC road bridge decks deteriorated due to ASR and fatigue was investigated. The specimen modelling a full-size RC deck deteriorated due to ASR and fatigue was prepared by accelerated curing and wheel load trucking test. After that, repair was carried out by replacing the damaged part on the upper side of the RC deck specimen. Latex modified rapid-hardening concrete with excellent adhesion and material penetration resistance was used as the repair material. Then, the repair effect on improving fatigue resistance was evaluated by performing another series of wheel load trucking tests. As a result, a significant increase in fatigue resistance after repair occurred. In which, the number of equivalent cycles increased 178 times as compared to before the repair. In addition, the forced vibration test using a small shaker is useful in evaluating the effect of such deterioration and repair.
