ABSTRACT

In Japan, many bridges were built after the high economic growth period. As a result, many bridges will be aged ones. Therefore, it is necessary to reduce the maintenance cost for the aged bridges. In this study, the authors picked up the Akayama bridge as a research target. This bridge is an existing small-scale steel girder bridge managed by Kaminoyama city, Yamagata prefecture. The measurements were carried out in 2018 and in 2019. The deck of this bridge will be replaced in April and May 2019. In this survey, the authors investigated the influence on the structural behavior by the temperature change in a day. The authors measured dis-placements, strain and temperature of the bridge with intervals of 1 hour. The investigation period is set for 24 hours. The authors also carried out the 3D finite elements analysis of the Akayama bridge.
