ABSTRACT

This paper investigates the flexural failure behavior of Textile Reinforced Concrete (TRC). Concrete beams were strengthened by carbon textile. For comparison, a FRP grid was also used as a reinforcement. A total of eighteen RC beams were fabricated, strengthened and tested in four-point bending till failure. Based on the results of the test, the behavior and performance of retrofitted RC beams were revealed, including flexural capacity, bending stiffness as well as crack pattern, failure mechanisms, and failure modes.
