ABSTRACT

The selection of maintenance plans in accordance with the operational requirements and the technical conditions of structures is an important task in the maintenance process. This paper presents the application of life cycle cost analysis in establishing an appropriate maintenance strategy against chloride corrosion in the reinforcement concrete pile-type wharfs in Viet Nam. The result of research provides a consistent basis for the selection of an effective investment plan based on assessment of economic-technical characteristics of the whole life cycle of structures using different repair alternatives in Viet Nam.
