ABSTRACT

Ultra-High Performance Concrete (UHPC) is a new kind of composite material, and has attracted much international attention, owing to its high mechanical properties such as high strength, high durability and so on. This paper takes a new bridge (20m span simply supported T -beam of prestressed UHPC) under construction for example, uses for reference the theory of concrete, a finite element model included. Verify the structure design is appropriate. Addition, studies the upper plate stress distribution under three different work conditions and four different depth of upper plate. Conclusions are as follow: effective distribution width becomes greater from one side to the middle of the beam, the beam’s whole width works from the one fifth span, which testify general beam theory is correct using in T -beam of prestressed UHPC; as the load increasing, the confine of effective distribution width reduces; under the same design conditions, the effective distribution width of UHPC prestressed T-beam decreases slightly with the increase of slab thickness. It provides a reference for the practical engineering application of UHPC prestressed T-beam.
