ABSTRACT

Artificial Intelligent (AI) Technology has been becoming more practical and important due to their enhanced accuracy and extended applications in recent years. Bridge scour failures have been reported frequently around the world. Hydraulic structures constitute the most vulnerable elements of transportation infrastructure. Recent increases in precipitation have resulted in severe and more frequent flash flooding incidents. This has put bridges over waterways at a higher risk of failure due to scour. Plus the applications of AI technology, this study presents a sensory system for measuring scour depth variation and sediment deposition processes in the vicinity of the foundations to underpin systems for early warning of impending structural failure. This bridge multi-hazards early warning system has been successfully demonstrated in the field of Taiwan river basins are provided.
