ABSTRACT

For improvement of the seismic safety, we developed additional side devices of bridge girders at bridge end zones. However, by the setting of such devices for prestressed concrete T-girders, we should consider the tight arrangement of PC cables or ducts. It is necessary to reduce the influence to inner cables or ducts as less as possible, when seismic devices are installed. We have developed special seismic reinforcing devices for prestressed concrete girders in combining steel attachments and Ultra-High Performance Fiber Reinforced Cement-based composites (UHPFRC) called J-THIFCOM. We introduce experiments and application examples of the seismic devices.
