ABSTRACT

With the desirable properties of UHPFRC in fresh and hardened state, UHPFRC has been applied to many bridges for their rehabilitations and strengthenings. This paper reports about some applications of UHPFRC in RC decks, RC piers, RC girders, expansion joint, concrete curb, bearing attachment device installment, shoe seat mortar, and so on. Fresh properties such as flowability, self-compactability and slope-stability are an advantage to execute these constructions where usually thin exterior layer of UHPFRC is made to replace the damaged part of existing concrete. Hardened properties such as high strength and impermeability of the UHPFRC exterior layer lead to stiffening and strengthening the structures as well as protecting them from environmental actions. Applications will be shown and further trials will be discussed.
