ABSTRACT

In the Akashi-Kaikyo Bridge, many measurement devices are installed for the monitoring of the bridge behavior. By the strong typhoon Jebi that made landfall over Kobe on September 4, 2018, the largest horizontal displacement of the girder and wind speed through the history of measurement were recorded. These data are analyzed and compared with the initial design. Although characteristics of the measured wind such as yaw angle against bridge and turbulence were different from the design assumption, initial design is verified by taking these parameters into consideration.
