ABSTRACT

This paper presents compressive properties between experimental and theoretical results of T-shaped concrete columns subjected to axial and shear forces, as well as bending and torsional moments. Previous research mainly focused on shear failure and torsion failure with two or three correlations. However, few research studies focused on compression failure with four correlations. For the purpose of researching into the ultimate bearing capability of T-shaped columns subjected to combined axial, bending, shear and torsion loads, the ultimate compressional performance of reinforced concrete columns subjected to combined forces was investigated using the approach of plastic damage model. The compressive properties were derived from the experimental and theoretical analysis of reinforced concrete T-shaped columns subjected to combined loads. Those will provide some reference for the further research of T-shaped concrete columns subjected to combined loads on the unified formula of ultimate compressional bearing capability.
