ABSTRACT

This paper discussed that the structural safety of a small existing bridge under the condition that the compressive force acts on the superstructure by moving the abutment due to landslide. The results of examining the safety by comparing landslide amount obtained by GNSS and strain of main girder obtained by strain gauges are examined. The compressive force caused by landslides is greater than the thermal expansion caused by temperature changes. The analysis predicted ultimate load under compression force when prescribed displacements were given at bearings and abutment parapets. It was found that the current stress level is less than 1/3 at ultimate state.
