ABSTRACT

According to the regular pattern of live load response and the principle of economic applicability of small and medium-span bridges, the selection of safety monitoring parameters and the layout principle of measuring points are put forward. Under the action of live load, the absolute value of the stress variation is large, and the stress is the most important monitoring parameter, which can be arranged in a plurality of sections with large stress variations. However, the absolute value of the deflection variation is small, and the deflection measuring point can only be set at the position where the maximum deformation occurs. This paper introduces two cases of small and medium-span bridge safety monitoring, static monitoring system and dynamic monitoring system. From the monitoring effectiveness and cost, it is recommended that the dynamic monitoring system should be preferred in the monitoring of small and medium-span bridges.
