ABSTRACT

This paper proposes a method for demodulating dynamic parameters of fiber-optic sensors, and verifies the feasibility for dynamic parameters of the fiber-optic sensor as well as the demodulation method for static parameters. For the static parameters such as strain or temperature, the optical Vernier structure-based sensors are formed by cascading two single interferometers, and the static parameters can be demodulated by observing the drift of the envelope. For dynamic parameters such as acoustic signal or vibration, by spectral scanning method, the spectrum can be processed to obtain not only the frequency but also the amplitude of the dynamic signal.
