ABSTRACT
Cotton is an important fiber yielding crop of high economic returns. An ideal ideotype characteristic feature in the crop varieties helps in the capture and interception of the solar radiation, more number of fine quality boll production with good quality fiber and yield. This chapter briefly highlights some of the research activities carried out in the development of ideotype concepts and characters in cotton suitable for different environmental conditions and planting densities.
