ABSTRACT

This chapter discusses the importance of breach of the endometrial cavity during myomectomy and subsequent fertility. Uterine fibroids are the most common benign gynecologic tumor and cause abnormal uterine bleeding, bulked-related symptoms, and reproductive dysfunction. In some cases, uterine fibroid needs to be removed by surgery to improve reproductive function. During surgery, the endometrial cavity can breach, increasing the incidence of intrauterine adhesion and causing subsequence infertility. Preoperative preparation such as imaging for uterine mapping medical treatment to decrease fibroid size, intraoperative technique such as coagulation technique meticulous surgery, and postoperative procedure such as hysterocopic diagnosis and reduce the incidence enter the endometrial cavity and subsequence complication.
