ABSTRACT
After European Society for Medical Oncology Congress, Lluch Hernández organized I Day on Clinical Translational Research Post-ESMO 2018. The post-congress resulted in an update on digestive, melanoma, lung, genitourinary, gynecological, head and neck, breast, and miscellany tumors. Navarro Pérez organized III Day on Research in prediabetes, diabetes, and cardiovascular disease. Obesity, genes, and age could cause diabetes that could produce cancer. There are more diabetic men than women but diabetic women have more obesity index. Is a gender perspective needed? The main studies of prevention of diabetes were not performed with a gender focus. An egalitarian participation by sexes is needed in any type of studies and a differentiated analysis. The treatment of diabetes should be global, early, and pursues to prevent, delay, or avoid chronic complications. Certain hypoglycemiants can, besides preventing, delay or avoid chronic complications.
