ABSTRACT

The International Organization for Standardization (ISO) 9000 set of standards is used to develop the elements necessary to maintain an efficient quality system at any company. They can be used by manufacturing and service industries alike because they are not specific to any given product. Daft copies of the ISO 9001 year 2000 revision were under review. These proposed changes result in a standard that is more focused on the customer’s needs and that make the standard easier to use. Many companies opt to post the quality policy throughout the facility or distribute quality cards printed with the quality policy. The organization needs to document the procedures for contract review including how contract review activities are coordinated. Many companies keep a file for each customer, order or other applicable control measure. Files may contain customer information, contract agreements, quotes and change documentation.
