ABSTRACT
Yunnan region is in the eastern side of the collision zone between the Indian plate and the Eurasian plate. Earthquake disasters that occurred in this area are very serious. Due to the special geographical location of Yunnan, it was included in the two major economic corridors in the strategy called “one belt and one road”: China-Indochina Peninsula corridors and Bangladesh-China-India-Burma corridors. This paper systematically analyses the seismicity and tectonic background in Yunnan region: earthquake hazard analysis and earthquake disaster risk analysis were carried out and the preliminary countermeasures for emergency response were proposed.
