ABSTRACT

According to the action mechanism of external loads, a test device which can be used to measure the deformation of pipe subjected to external loads is designed. The test device is free from underground installation and without excavation measurement. To illustrate the rationality of the test device, compare the test results with theoretical calculations and the result agrees well. Based on the test data, the deformation characteristics and failure modes of the pipe with defects under external loads are analyzed. The factors affecting the bearing capacity of the pipe with defects are discussed, and the failure mode of the pipe with defects under external loads is stiffness failure determined by deformation.
