ABSTRACT

In urban production and operation activities, casualty accidents occur frequently and seriously threaten safety of urban operation and loss of life and property. In this paper, 677 casualty accidents in Beijing from 2012 to 2018 were analyzed using statistical analysis, text mining and association rules mining. The results show that: ① The number of accidents is related to the industrial structure and economic development level, with the highest proportion of accidents in Chaoyang District (19.4%) and Haidian District (14.5%), followed by the core urban area and the strong industrial area. ② The fewest casualties occurred in 2015, followed by an upward trend. There is the highest frequency of accidents in summer (July (12.4%) and August (11.7%)) and the lowest frequency in February due to Spring Festival Holiday. On the 7th and 9th days of each month, the highest frequency of accidents is only 4.4%. Such accidents mainly occur in the peak working hours (at 9-11 and 14-17) and the total frequency is up to 55.5%. ③ Because of the large-scale infrastructure construction in the stage of high-speed urbanization, the frequency in construction industry is as high as 57.6%, and related accidents include falling, electric shock and Collapse. All kinds of mechanical equipment are most dangerous factors. The casualties mainly come from Hebei and Henan around Beijing. ④ Because human error is the primary cause, strengthening staff training and safety management for enhancing staff safety awareness is essential.
