ABSTRACT

Cloud-based Internet-of-Things (IoT) is one of the emerging topics in IoT and Cloud Computing (CC). This chapter explores Cloud-based IoT from security perspective and explores the technologies and design issues for Cloud-based IoT in initial discussion. It discusses various security issues and challenges for Cloud-based IoT. The chapter also discusses technologies, design aspects and challenges. It considers the implementation aspects of Cloud-based IoT with a view to secure such infrastructure better. CC and IoT are the concepts of computing approaches rather than being computing technologies themselves. These computing approaches encapsulate all kinds of computing means to form infrastructure that are known as CC and IoT. The key factors that may pose design challenges for a Cloud-based IoT are lack of structuredness, device limitations, redundancy and performance, reliance on other infrastructure, privacy and control over IoT nodes, device location and privacy, routing and information processing, Wireless Technologies, CC technologies, technology compatibility and distributed architecture.
