ABSTRACT

This chapter proposes a technique with the fusion of two feature extraction algorithms, gray-level co-occurrence matrix and Gray-level run-length matrix, and Support Vector Machine is used as the classifier. The proposed methodology involves training and testing of preprocessed images and for preprocessing of images have performed some steps like filtering, skull masking, feature extraction, and feature reduction before training, and testing. MRI is a safe and useful technique for medical diagnosis by reason of its ability to distinguish between various organs and tissues. Mathematical morphology is a theory used especially in image analysis, whose aim is the study of entities in accordance with shape, size, and relationships with their neighbors, texture, and gray scale. Statistical texture analysis was used to excerpt the features from the given image and computed based on statistical distribution of pixel intensity at a specified position relative to alternative pixels within the matrix.
