ABSTRACT
English speaking is one of the four language skills categorized productive for EFL learners. Some effective techniques are important to be considered to support the online speaking learning process. Therefore, the use of multimedia is expected to be an effective technique to support EFL learners’ learning process and give them meaningful learning experiences. PBIS4306/Speaking III is one of the compulsory courses offered to EFL learners at Universitas Terbuka (UT). Moreover, online learning is provided to support learners practicing English speaking. A descriptive analysis was conducted by using an observation sheet to describe the process of online English speaking online tutorials. This paper is aimed at discussing the importance of various multimedia to enhance EFL learners’ speaking skills and describing how far the theory of using multimedia has been implemented. The results show that the use of multimedia, particularly through open learning sources (OER), has proven to help participants improve their speaking skills.
