ABSTRACT

The purpose of this study is to analyze the construct validity of HEdPERF’s scales using Exploratory Factor Analysis (EFA) technique in Balikpapan State Polytechnic context. The respondents are students from among seven departments in Balikpapan State Polytechnic. The 5-steps Exploratory Factor Analysis Protocol was followed for running EFA. The differently results from originally-six factors of HEdPERF by Abdullah Firdaus (2004) were obtained in this study, i.e., academic aspect, access, delivery service, campus reputation, staff attitude, program reputation, and employability graduate. Further factor analysis of Confirmatory Factor Analysis (CFA) can be carried out to evaluate the unidimensionality of the scales. This study is also attempting to find the right dimensions for service quality in the Indonesian polytechnic sector.
